The “EU Taxonomy”

Successfully fulfill new reporting obligations

The EU taxonomy is a standard that regulates environmental sustainability within the EU. It offers companies the opportunity to demonstrate their performance and progress on the path to a sustainable economy in a consistent and comparable way. As it is subject to non-financial disclosure obligations arising from the NFRD or CSR-RUG (act implementing the CSR Directive in Germany), it also means extended reporting obligations for companies. It therefore makes sense to deal with the new requirements introduced by the EU taxonomy at an early stage: Not only is this the first time that specific business activities are being considered, and financial and non-financial issues linked, but the timeframe is also ambitious. This is because the obligation to disclose will take effect as early as January 1, 2022. Our experts will be happy to support you in working with this ambitious schedule.

New green KPIs

Creating a meaningful basic understanding and transparency

Our consultants will help create a basic understanding of EU taxonomy and transparency for your business and functional areas with regard to the specific requirements pertaining to your company. Companies must publish the following three key figures:

  • Share of sales of products and services related to environmentally sustainable economic activity
  • Total investments in tangible and intangible assets related to sustainable economic activities ("green capex")
  • Sum of operating expenses for measures or processes that serve to meet one of the taxonomy objectives or criteria ("green opex")

Sustainability expertise

Successfully implement the necessary changes

Our approach aims to identify relevant business activities ("eligible activities") and to analyze, evaluate and document the compliance of your individual business activities ("aligned activities") in detail. In addition to assessing value flows, systems and processes for data collection, our sustainability experts will make necessary changes to your ERP landscape and ESHS systems transparent for you and will implement these changes directly for you. We will work with you to ensure meeting the EU taxonomy requirements and  integrating these into your sustainability reporting and overall sustainability strategy.
