HUK-COBURG

Support for the "Hybrid Work Organization" Project

The challenges

Since the coronavirus pandemic, HUK-COBURG has been working in hybrid mode due to the emergency. The works council had now approved the works agreement and hybrid working was to be steered into structured channels through an official project. Various aspects were addressed that went beyond pure hybrid working. This included setting up new office space, converting the technical equipment and supporting and empowering managers and employees during this change. This comprehensive design of the future workplace at HUK-COBURG was holistically supported by the Horváth Workplace Transformation approach.

Our approach

In order to successfully shape the transition to future-proof hybrid collaboration at HUK-COBURG, we relied on the Bricks-Bytes-Behavior model. We use this to systematically analyze how employees need to be introduced to new premises (bricks) and technology (bytes) and how behavioral change can be achieved at all levels. Based on this, we develop an integrated package of measures. This enables managers to actively shape hybrid collaboration, supports employees in desk sharing and digital collaboration and generates enthusiasm for the new working environment.

The solution

Together with HUK-COBURG, target group-specific measures were developed and implemented to make hybrid working a success. Interactive training formats were used to support managers in consciously fulfilling their role as designers of the new collaboration. Employees were given specific guidance on how to deal with desk sharing and how to use the new office space - conveyed through targeted communication, creative marketing measures and low-threshold support services. A network of multipliers was established, activated and continuously supported in order to create proximity to the workforce and receive feedback. In addition, the concept was continuously evaluated and further developed in a targeted manner to ensure long-term acceptance. Activating communication during the course of the project and the continuous integration of feedback from the organization into the design of the change were crucial. This ensured the successful implementation of the project for HUK-COBURG.
