White Paper : From Ambition to Operational Execution: Assessing Sustainability Maturity in Manufacturing
Sustainability requirements are increasingly shaping the strategic and operational landscape of manufacturing companies. What was once perceived primarily as a reporting obligation has evolved into a strategic imperative for regulatory compliance, market access, and long-term competitiveness.
Against this backdrop, Horváth and IntegrityNext jointly analyzed the sustainability performance of 30 manufacturing companies across several EU countries. The objective was to assess the extent to which organizations have operationalized sustainability – not only whether relevant goals are in place, but how effectively these goals are translated into operational processes, management systems, and organizational structures.
We have summarized the results in this white paper. The findings provide a structured snapshot of sustainability maturity within the manufacturing sector, highlighting how companies are progressing from strategic aspiration toward operational execution. Furthermore, the paper provides guidance and recommendations on operationalizing sustainability using digital solutions.
