Management consultancy Horváth closes fiscal year with a record result and 21 percent growth

  • Planned business results exceeded with 21 percent sales growth
  • Staff increased by one fifth, more than 200 new hires planned
  • Further sales growth of around 17 percent forecast for fiscal year 2023/2024

The international management consultancy Horváth achieved double-digit growth in the past fiscal year (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023), well above the industry average. With total sales of 265 million euros, a new record result was achieved. Horváth also increased its headcount by more than 20 percent from 1,080 to over 1,275 employees. For the new fiscal year, the Managing Board is anticipating further double-digit growth of around 17 percent and 200 new hires.

Strategic focus on performance management and transformation pays off

"Our strategy of focusing fully on our core competencies of performance management and transformation is proving particularly successful in these economically uncertain times, as companies require sustainable solutions to complex challenges," says Horváth CEO Helmut Ahr. "Thanks to our excellent consulting quality, implementation expertise and above-average 'return on consulting', as well as our international delivery capabilities, we are convincing more and more companies that we are the right partner to ensure sustainable value creation."

Global presence and management team expanded

In the course of the past fiscal year, Horváth was able to further expand its global presence. For example, a new office was opened in Copenhagen, and locations in the USA and Middle East were greatly expanded. Today, 30 percent of employees are assigned to locations outside Germany. In order to keep up with the company's growth, the management team was also strengthened as of April 1, 2023. Eight new members have joined the partnership, and 28 employees have been promoted to principal level, which amounts to an increase by around 20 percent.

"While some large international consultancies are slowing down their pace of growth, we are continuously developing and consistently expanding our market share," says Horváth CEO Helmut Ahr. "With our strategic initiatives, especially Corporate Transformation, Finance Transformation and Green Transformation, we have the right solutions for our clients' challenges." Within the Corporate Transformation initiative, Horváth plans to expand its consulting services in the areas of M&A as well as private equity, among others. In Finance Transformation, there is a focus on sustainable finance. In Green Transformation, the focus will be on sustainable operations – the decarbonization of a company's own value creation activities – and the establishment of a circular economy.
