- Management consultancy Horváth becomes owner of Interim Excellence GmbH with retroactive effect as of January 1, 2024
- The digitalized business model in the growth market of interim management complements the existing Horváth portfolio
With retroactive effect as of January 1, 2024, Horváth AG will become the main owner of Interim Excellence GmbH, operator of the interim-x.com platform. The specialized provider has been successfully placing senior experts, interim managers, and restructuring professionals with large corporations, family businesses, and private equity companies since 2013. More than 10,000 senior experts and interim managers are registered on the platform, 3,000 of whom are accredited - and the trend is rising.
"With Interim Excellence GmbH, we have acquired a fast-growing and very profitable company in an absolute growth market that strategically complements our traditional management consultancy in the best possible way," says Helmut Ahr, CEO at Horváth. "On the one hand, we gain direct access to senior experts with very dedicated industry and specialist expertise, who we can integrate into our project teams at the client's request. On the other hand, we will be able to offer companies interim management to fill vacant management positions at short notice from a single source in addition to traditional management consulting. This will allow us to deepen and expand our added value to provide our clients with even more comprehensive support."
The placement of specialized executives and interim managers is a rapidly growing market segment. In Germany alone, the current market volume is around 2.5 billion euros per year. The shortage of skilled workers and the trend toward more flexible working models are key drivers of this growth.
The collaboration between Horváth and interim-x had already proven to be very successful in previous cooperation. "interim-x has established itself as a highly reliable and efficient partner. The excellent quality of the profiles, the high degree of digitalization, and the associated speed and process efficiency in the placement process impressed us from the very beginning," says Ahr.
Founder Martin Franssen remains the Managing Director and co-shareholder of the platform. The experienced interim manager launched the platform as a start-up in 2013 to make filling expert and management positions simpler, more efficient, more digital, and more transparent.
This year, interim-x plans to broker fee volumes of over eight million euros, and with Horváth, they now want to grow even more strongly. "With the Horváth Group behind it, interim-x will continue to develop strategically over the next few years. Management consulting and interim management will move closer together - a 'perfect match'," says Franssen. "We were convinced by Horváth's consistent growth course as a top management consultancy with a focus on the highest quality, which we also apply when selecting our interim managers."
