Regardless of whether your apply as economic scientist, business engineer, or business data processing specialist, whether you come to us with extensive experience, are a lateral entrant or a graduate, whether you wish to start as a consultant or feel you can master the challenges of a principal: Horváth & Partners can offer you so much in the consulting fields of Strategic Management & Innovation, Process Management & Organization, and Management Accounting & Controlling, as well as IT Realization & Implementation – and all that across the boundaries of a broad spectrum of industries.

You can prove your abilities as a subject specialist in our “Solution Competence Centers” and use your expertise to apply and develop methods and instruments across different industries. Or you can use your knowledge of business models and trends in a specific industry to shine as an industry expert in one of our eight “Industry Competence Centers”. If you have already mastered – or are interested in doing so – a range of solutions and industries, you can also work in General Consulting on projects which span different industries and fields, and set up a network of contacts at one of our offices – and help to cultivate the market at the same time.

Graduates

Graduates and PhD students from economics and business administration are as equally welcome as those from management sciences, from engineering or from business data processing - as long as you have excellent grades. Alongside high-level experience, gathered perhaps during an internship, you have the necessary motivation for working in at a management consultancy. Ideally, you have already worked in a consulting firm during your studies. We offer two possible forms of entry: High caliber graduates of Bachelor degree programs in Economics and Business Administration, Industrial Engineering and Management, or Business Information Systems can join us as Junior Consultant.

Here you will have the opportunity to learn to become a consultant from scratch. You will gain insights into the tasks and fields of daily consulting work and gradually take on more responsibility. You will be accompanied along the way by a personal mentor, who will be there to provide you with advice and practical assistance. You will undergo an individual training and qualification program and together we will then be able to decide if management consulting is the right profession for you. Should this be the case, you will be granted financial assistance from us to complete a Master’s study program, after which you can rejoin our company at the level of Consultant.

Having said that, we also enable bachelor graduates to join us directly to take up jobs in Services. Here you can enjoy the challenging functions of a project assistant; this, in turn, can be the springboard to becoming a consultant.

Graduates with a masters degree or a German Diplom from a university join us as Consultants.

Young professionals

Do you have up to 5 years’ professional experience? Do you come from industry, from the service sector – for example, banking or insurance – or from another consulting firm? Excellent! That means you can enhance and broaden your initial experiences of the fields of strategy, processes and controlling at Horváth & Partners. Face up to the challenge and join us, depending on your background, as consultant (see section on graduates) or as Managing Consultant.

Senior Professionals

As an experienced professional from another consulting firm, from industry or from another field of business, you have built up your knowledge base for at least five to six years and have also proven your leadership capabilities by heading up projects. Now you are seeking a new challenge. Then join us as a Senior Project Manager.

Should you have extensive experience (at least 8 years professional experience), there is also the option of you joining our ranks at Horváth & Partners as a Principal – one step below partner level. With your exceptional expertise and knowledge of industry you will run major projects at clients’ premises and develop strategies which enable them to achieve sustainable improvements. Your outstanding grasp of themes and topics enables you to acquire new clients for Horváth & Partners and to also assume a leadership role within the consulting team at the same time. First-class consulting cannot exist without first-class support. This is why we place great store in the functions carried out by our Services department. The continuous and significant growth of Horváth & Partners makes this even truer. Employees who undertake support roles and organizational tasks are becoming ever more important at the same time as their work becomes increasingly manifold. As such, you can become an important element of our activities by working in marketing or in HR management, for example. As project assistant you play a decisive role in our operative business. If you are interested in an internship, ideally you are in the third semester or higher and have at least eight weeks you can dedicate to us.

Based upon a prior internship, it is possible to write your bachelor dissertation, master thesis or Diplom thesis at Horváth & Partners. We will gladly offer support and advice in your choice of topic from our fields of consulting. Why not contact us with a proposal? At the same time, we can talk about how long you will need to complete your final paper at Horváth & Partners.

If you are in your first semester, we also take on student workers. We can look at your timetable and agree upon the extent and scope of your activities at Horváth & Partners, because your university education has priority for us.

Out of sight, out of mind? Not for us. If you complete an internship with us and distinguish yourself through the high standards of your work, we will reward you with membership of the Horváth Student Club. From this point on we will accompany and support you all the way through to the end of your studies.

On your way to direct entry as a management consultant, not only will you learn the ropes at exclusive events, you will also be able to talk to board members. The online forum of the Horváth Student Club will provide you with the opportunity to exchange information and experiences with other "old hands”, while regular news bulletins will keep you up-to-date with the latest developments at Horváth & Partners. Further internships, student jobs or a final paper will allow you to gain more insights into the life as a consultant.
